As a cellist Jessie plays regularly with Ensemble Pamplemousse and the Red Light New Music Ensemble (NYC) which focus on the commissioning and performance of new works from young composers. She has also worked with the SEM Ensemble (NYC), Forum fur Zeitgenoessicher Musik (Leipzig), KlangExecutiv (Berlin), the Ostravksa Banda ( Czech Republic) and with members of the Klangforum Wien (Vienna). In 2006 Jessie moved to Berlin, Germany and started a performance art duo with the singer/ composer Kerstin Fuchs. She currently resides in New York City where she has started the Treffpunkt! Music Exchange and co- founded the three-piece inter-media performance ensemble Tall Brown Boots. Upcoming engagements include the first installation of the Treffpunkt! concert series in Berlin and Vienna a concert tour with Ensemble Pamplemousse around the United States and the premier performance of The Red Light New Music Ensemble at the Kennedy Center.

Programm: The Mannahatta Concert Tour presents works from established and up and coming composers from the island of Manhattan. Cellist Jessie Marino, will present works for solo cello that explore New York’s sonic territories from the past 50 years, including two newly commissioned works by composers from The Red Light New Music Ensemble (NYC) .

Jessie Marino was born in 1984 and grew up in Long Island, New York. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from the Manhattan School of Music where she studied with David Geber. In 2006 she was awarded the Stamas Family Scholarship from Lincoln Center.
